Recently, someone replied to one of my posts about the subconscious mind with a comment about creation and evolution.
For a moment, I felt that familiar urge to defend my point — to make them “see what I meant.”
So, I wrote:
“I think you’ve missed my point — it’s not the hardware I was referring to, but the operator.”
Later, I realised something deeper was happening.
That quick response wasn’t about winning an argument.
It was my subconscious standing up for myself — an instinctive act of self-respect.
But it also showed me how easily we can slip into reaction instead of reflection.
True self-awareness begins when we notice that space between the two.
When we pause long enough to choose how we respond — not just what we say.
It’s a reminder I share often, and one I’m still practising myself:
We don’t need to prove our point — we need to live it.
